Mission

Our Aim:

At Area Mentis we strongly believe in the importance of a personalised approach,

Our practitioners have dedicated their lives to the study of how people think, act and communicate.

Through this process, they help people to identify the source of their problems and address them.

Supported by the relationship with the therapist, the individual can scrutinize the stress and suffering in their lives within the context of their life-history:
where it originates, how it is manifested and what coping behaviours have evolved to deal with it.

Our Services:

Area Mentis offers psychotherapy, counselling and psychological services

Our therapists offer individual consultations, counselling to children and teens and couples therapy

Why psychotherapy?

At times when we feel overwhelmed, helpless and in distress, or experiencing emotional pain, psychotherapy can offer a space to gain clarity and insight into our difficulties and to gradually move towards change in our lives. The level of distress that each person encounters is as individual as the resilience and coping mechanisms that have emerged to deal with it.

Psychotherapy is a collaborative treatment based on the relationship between an individual and a therapist. Grounded in dialogue, it provides a supportive environment that allows you to talk openly with someone who is neutral and nonjudgmental. You and your therapist will work together to identify and address that which is keeping you from feeling your best.

Working with a psychotherapist can help you with:

Unresolved anger, depression, anxiety, suicidal ideation, sexual and physical Abuse, low self- esteem, stress, addiction, traumatic events, work-related issues and stress, panic Attacks; relationship issues, separation and bereavement; eating disorders, phobias.

What now

The first step is making contact, by sending an email, making a phone call or filling out our online form. This is an important moment to gather the information you need, to understand where to start and to make arrangements for your first consultation session, where you will get the opportunity to speak to a therapist freely in a safe, respectful and confidential environment. The length and frequency of the treatment then depends on many factors, which will be outlined and discussed over the first appointments.

Costs

Our aim is to deliver a service that is affordable and accessible to everyone. The cost of therapy is an important element of the therapeutic experience; it becomes our investment in the relationship with the psychotherapist and in the therapeutic process. Costs may vary according to individual needs (reduced fees available to full time students and unemployed people).
